Information on urethane inserts for lower transmission mount
I purchased the inserts from c-f-m, so I could get reed of the cars wheel hop and to stop the transmission from moving to much. I paid $20 for the inserts plus $20 to get them installed at c-f-m. The car still has wheel hop and the transmission does not move as much with the new inserts, as it used to bang when I shifted from 1st to 2nd hard. I would recommend one to change the stock inserts since the stock ones have to much movement when driving the car hard. I also noticed that the stock ones look cheap since the stock ones are not a solid piece of rubber. The stock inserts could have the possibility to move to much under hard driving to cause the mount to break, which is why I changed the stock ones out.
The inserts requires a press or something to press the old inserts out and to put the new ones in, so I would recommend to get someone to install the inserts with the correct tools and knowledge. Some people have installed the inserts with a socket that is the same size as stock inserts by clamping on the socket and insert and pressing out the old one that way.
